Lübeck
What happens in Lübeck?
Lübeck or Hansestadt Lübeck as the city is actually called is just that - a German Hanseatic city with roots all the way back to the Middle Ages. This can be seen, among other things, in the city's cozy old town center, which is located on an island in the river Trave that flows through Lübeck all the way to its mouth in the Baltic Sea, which gives us Travemünde.
What Lübeck does well is adapt its modern parts to the city's history, which is reflected in interesting modern architecture, such as the area around Fisch 18, and many cozy old alleys leading to contemporary residential areas. Lübeck has a great balance between city life and the city's waterways and ports, making it a great place to visit in the warmer months.
Conference trip / group trip
Lübeck as a city offers various possibilities for conference and group travel. The hotels have modern conference facilities and a variety of cozy restaurants can be found in the city, such as local small breweries to larger traditional German places. The layout of the city makes it easy to get around for activities and offers winsome shopping in cozy neighborhoods.
Architecture trip
The architecture in Lübeck ranges from medieval buildings and small narrow alleys to larger modern buildings and ring roads. A bike ride around the city gives a perfect overview of what Lübeck has to offer and several companies are happy to offer tours of unusual buildings around the city. A wonderful mix of old and new.
School trip
Lübeck's proximity to both Sweden and other German cities and destinations makes the city's location a perfect starting point to discover a lot during your class trip. Here you can not only see Lübeck, but a short bus ride away is Hamburg and in between we find the concentration camp Neuengamme. A mix of history and city life, just a short distance from the Swedish border.
